Primary Care Healthcare Assistant HCA GP Surgery

Locums First is looking for a Primary Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – GP Surgery to work for a GP practice in Wellingborough. This role is ideal for a confident and patient-focused HCA who enjoys working within an organised primary care environment and supporting clinicians with essential clinical tasks. You will support the smooth running of daily clinics by assisting with routine patient assessments, treatment room duties and health monitoring. The practice offers a supportive multidisciplinary team, clear working processes and well-structured clinical sessions. Key Responsibilities Supporting routine patient observations including BP, pulse and oxygen saturations Assisting with treatment room procedures under supervision Phlebotomy and specimen collection (where trained) Performing ECGs and NHS Health Checks Supporting chronic disease monitoring Delivering basic lifestyle and health promotion advice Accurate documentation and clinical system updates Requirements Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in primary care or NHS setting Phlebotomy skills desirable (training may be considered) Confidence in basic clinical procedures and patient interaction Understanding of infection control and safeguarding standards Ability to use EMIS, SystmOne or equivalent systems Enhanced DBS Working Pattern Flexible weekly sessions available Morning and afternoon clinics Suitable for ongoing regular bookings How to Apply To apply, email solomon@locumsfirst.co.uk, call 07494 675118, or apply directly through our website.
