The role The role will lead, plan and deliver building related projects, primarily of minor works and with key responsibility for the delivery of the unit (bedroom) refurbishment programme which is anticipated to be renewed annually. The role may also include involvement in major refurbishment projects, the Capital Asset Replacement programme and Health & Safety remedial works collaborating with colleagues in the team and consultants. The role is field based and by necessity involves regular visits to the care homes relevant to the programmes. This is a challenging and rewarding role that contributes to improving our residents’ homes and making a difference to their quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Scoping of building works required, meeting contractors on site, reviewing proposals and instructing work. Regular visits to site to review progress, check quality, instruct variations and sign off works as complete. Preparation and management of snagging lists Monitor the work on site in accordance with the Contractors method statements and construction health & safety plan. Planning of projects at an individual and portfolio level in a clear logistical format to minimise disruption at home level What We're Looking For: Experience working within a regulated industry the care industry is desirable Experience dealing with contractors and suppliers Experience exercising budgetary control with good understanding of financial management across Revenue, Capital expenditure Experience of leading on projects and delegating, instructing and motivating others Awareness of (including training compliance) and applying all related and current legislation – personally, to the Home and wider company.
