JOB TITLE: Trainee Accounts Assistant SALARY: £24,500–£26,500 per annum, depending on experience, plus fully funded AAT Level 2 study support (day release/exam fees included) LOCATION: Romsey - SO51 9DQ JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent --- A growing SME based in Romsey is looking for a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join its friendly, supportive finance team. This is a fantastic entry point into a career in finance. You don't need previous experience in accounts — just strong numeracy, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine interest in building a career towards AAT and beyond. You'll be fully supported from day one, working alongside experienced members of the team who'll teach you the ropes as you go. You'll report into the Finance Manager, and as you grow in confidence and complete your AAT Level 2, you'll take on more responsibility — with a clear path through to a full Accounts Assistant role. What you'll be doing: Supporting the team with raising sales invoicesHelping process and allocate customer receiptsAssisting with matching purchase invoices against purchase ordersSupporting supplier and customer account reconciliationsHelping respond to supplier and customer queriesProviding general administrative support to the finance teamLearning the systems and processes behind month-end activitiesWhat we're looking for: No previous finance experience required — this role is about your potentialStrong numeracy and attention to detailA genuine interest in starting (or continuing) your AAT qualificationGood organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workloadClear, confident communicationA proactive, positive attitude and eagerness to learnComfortable asking questions and taking on feedback as you build your skillsWhat you'll get: Salary of £24,500–£26,500 depending on experienceFully funded AAT Level 2 study support, including day release and exam feesHands-on training from an experienced, supportive finance teamA genuine progression path towards an Accounts Assistant role as your skills and qualification developThe chance to build a long-term career in finance from the ground upJob Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £24,500.00-£26,500.00 per year Benefits: Company pensionWork Location: In person
